1. What problem do you want to research and brainstorm solutions for? (Be as specific as possible; it's ok to choose one of my examples above, but I'll be really impressed if you come up with your own problem to research! Remember - we will all be reading each other's research on the DB, so it would be good to a have a wide variety of problems covered by the class! If you need ideas for topics, go through the Table of Contents of the eText, and our DB conversations to find problems that interest or intrigue you! Or google "list of global issues" to try to find ideas)

2. What is the regional scope? (meaning, which country do you want to cover in your analysis? You can choose to explore the issue in just ONE country, or you can analyze 1-2 countries to do a more global comparative analysis. But keep in mind, if you choose two countries to explore, you will have to provide analysis for both countries, meaning talk about the history of the problem in each country, what's currently being done in each country, and what more could be done in each country. And you'd need to analyze whether one country is handling the problem better than the other, and if so, why and how? And could the one country learn from the other country about how to better address the problem in the future?)

3. Why is this an important problem to research and problem-solve for? (meaning, why should anyone care about this problem? What happens if the problem persists and is not dealt with?)
