The two questions we have presented to answer this week include our own perspective on why organizations would prioritize different areas of the SWOT analysis, and to share an example of an organization prioritizing one aspect of the SWOT analysis more than another. So to try and tackle both of these questions in one answer I look to my experience with a previous position where I worked with a non-profit and one thing we had to do was perform a SWOT for the project and granting agency, and then another at the end of the project. It was my first time working with this tool. I learned that in the beginning the project focused more on the opportunity aspect of the analysis because what was being worked on was new and in a start up phase. By the end the focus was on the weaknesses and where to improve. So I would have to agree with what a lot of the other classmates are saying that it is unique to that business and how new or old it may be and even if it is older if they're in a restructuring phase.
