The United States and the American people pride themselves for living by tlie Constitution and being a country diverse in it's people, religions, and beliefs. No matter the circumstances, racism is never the answer. Rather than buding the bridges necessary to progress into the future, racism tears people and nations apart and \"to give constitutional sanction, however well intentioned, is to adopt one of the cruelest of the rationales used by our enemies to destroy the dignity of the individual\" (T+S, 275). Furthermore, this retrograde action taken by the United States military and government was led in a negative direction when they chose to endorse racial discrimination by \"encourag[ing] and open[ing] the door to discriminatory actions against other minority groups in the passions of tomorrow\" [T+S, 275)
