There are several companies , many of them we know and are very popular that call themselves culture apples. They focus on issues relating to corporate culture, ethics, diversity, equality and inclusion and sustainability. These are aspects that are all very, very important to them as a company.
One such company is Zappos. I had the opportunity to visit their corporate headquarters in November 2019. From what I learn it is a great company to work for. It focuses on the social elements that are extremely dear and important to their employees. What do they get in exchange? Dedicated, loyal and extremely motivated employees who love their job and who don't want to leave or plan to leave.
Quite recently (just last week) I attended the Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong (no not in person virtually). I learn from that conference that companies are not only being just by their investors on how they treat their employees, their commitment to DEI, but also Sustainability (see UN Sustainable development goals). What is emerging is a trend called Environmental, Social and Governance.
Take a look at Zappos and compare it to one other company focusing on the following themes
Ethics
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Sustainability
Corporate culture.
And yes, ESG.
Tell us what you have learned about zappos and how the company you have selected compares.
