This assignment focuses on children and young people's rights, equality and diversity and the procedures you have in place to manage these. It also looks at the importance of risk management within your service.

You need to reflect on your own working practice and experiences and ensure that any research you have carried out is referenced accordingly.

1) Identify evidence-based principles and components needed to ensure rights are fully embedded in policies and procedures

2) Explain how children and young people can be marginalised by inequalities in society.

3) Evaluate how well your policies and procedures incorporate the rights of children or young people and propose improvements to strengthen the rights of children or young people

4) Evaluate your own practice in promoting the rights of children or young people and give examples of how you and others continually improve your practice to promote their rights

Task 2 

1) Analyse ethical principles associated with the management of risk.

2) Analyse how risk-taking relates to the wellbeing and development of children and young people.

3) Evaluate your own practice in leading a culture that recognises the benefits of positive risk taking and a balanced approach to risk management.

Task 3 

1) Explain the actions you take when health, safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices are not being complied with.

2) Explain the process you take to evaluate reports of injuries, incidents, accidents and illnesses to identify any improvements needed in reporting.

3) Give examples of when you have planned and implemented improvements to address the findings of your evaluations.
