This class has been an incredible opportunity to learn about the different components and the dynamics of leadership and communication . Hackman and Johnson ( 2009 ) describe several different opportunities to expand knowledge on leadership . I am currently active in all three ( 3 ) : Individual preparation Socializing company vision and values , and Strategic leadership initiatives ( p . 371 - 372 ) . I participate in proactive feedback sessions , constantly I is my work back into our Mission , and am engaged in a lot of work that is aimed towards our strategic goals . Leadership experience , as described by Hackman and Johnson ( 2009 ) is an opportunity to grow by engaging in leadership practices firsthand and learning from the experience of others ( p . 377 ) . I am continually engaged in work with Executives and Subject Matte Experts of all types of disciplines . This diverse exposure will provide me with a well - rounded background and many lessons learned . Finally Hackman and Johnson ( 2009 ) describe several types of relationships in which to engage ( p . 372 - 373 ) . I currently have a Strategic Program Director with 37 years of experience who serves as a coach for the type of project on which I am working . I also have a mento who is an incredible wealth of knowledge and guidance . We meet informally every so often and discuss life , work and future goals . I also have a close relationship with several members of the Ministry and my Division's leadership team . The combination of these steps will work cohesively to continue my growth as a leader . Leadership development is a combination of a multitude of resources for development . I plan to capitalize on all of them that are available to me
