This is a social network of one small division in an IT startup. This division includes two product development teams, indicated by different colors of the nodes. Let's say that the orange color indicates AppDev team, while the sky color indicates OS team. Each node represents a team member, and a link represents regular communication between nodes. Two teams operate quite independently; however, they may have shared expertise and knowledge. Thus, two teams might benefit from sharing their product development experiences, trial and errors, and information that they have collected for process improvement. Nonetheless, the hierarchy of this firm does not necessarily facilitate communication across teams (as you can see links, which represent the communication flow)
