I have understood that implementing proactive cyber security technology, seen in firewalls, encryption, and multi$-$factor authentication, adds to the defense of such data. On the other hand, besides these practical measures, implementing a robust ethical framework and a competent corporate governance structure are key factors that discourage unethical behavior. This week$$s assignment highlighted the need for consistent technology integration following technological advancement. According to $($Shukla et al$.,2022),$ financial services firms should be dedicated to continuous learning, moral reckoning, and diligent adaptation of security measures that will help protect against cyber criminals in the dynamic threat environment.

The case study analysis assignment provided a practical application of ethical principles in real$-$world scenarios, emphasizing the importance of confidentiality, security, and accountability in handling cybercrime incidents. As an employee, one must be accountable regardless of whether others are watching. Leaving the flash drive at the coffee station, where another person who can be an insider or outsider can pick it up$,$ would be risky. If an outsider picks the flash drive and gets access to such sensitive data, the company could go into shambles. Additionally, the case facilitated exploring the recommended actions, such as using hotlines for reporting, involving legal authorities, and ensuring internal and external communication, which enhanced my understanding of effective strategies for addressing such breaches. Getting resources to support the arguments was challenging. I look forward to more cases to gain insight into being accountable and responsible in the workplace.
