You, of course, think you are worth more money. Imagine that you are sitting at the table with the hiring manager from the consulting firm and she says "We offer you $130,000 a year if you work for us" What would be the legal effect of the following responses?

A. If you said "O.K., but I would have preferred more."

B. If you said "Would you be willing to pay more?"

C. If you said "What, are you guys crazy?"

D. If you said "I'll work for $150,000." Their reply is then, "You are not worth that much." You then say, "Then I accept your offer to work for $130,000." The firm replies, "We changed our mind, forget it."

E. If you said, "I'll take $130,000, but only if you provide me with a company car."

For options A through E, identify (i) if a contract has been formed, and (ii) explain why a contract has been formed or why a contract has not been formed.

F. Explain which of these 5 options, you believe, (i) is the best thing to say, and provide an explanation for why it is the best option, and (ii) which of these options is the worst thing to say, and why.
