This week, you will create a visual representation of some of your relationships (as described in the directions below) and you will explain your findings according to what the book and my lectures say about the principles of Media Multiplexity Theory.

    1. Record your 3 strongest family relationships, your 3 strongest friend relationships, and 3 people who you have weak ties with. Map these relationships out similarly to Figure 13-1 (pg. 168). This means you will submit a visual representation of your relationships, which can either be hand drawn or created on an electronic device. You must include this visual representation in your submission for full credit.
    2. For each tie, record the modes of communication that connect you both (friends on Facebook, talk on the phone, write letters, etc.) and whether these are active connections (e.g. you message often via Instagram) or passive connections (e.g. you're friends on Instagram but rarely connect through it). This part of the assignment may be written out in full sentences (between 2-5 sentences), or you can write this information as notes within your visual representation of your relationships.
    3. Write 3-6 sentences reflecting your findings according to tenets of Media Multiplexity Theory.
