Three products are to be stored in a warehouse using dedicated storage policy. The expected maximum storage slot requirements and the trip requirements during a given planning period for these products are shown in the table below. Product Total no. of trips 9 18 21 Storage slot requirement 12 6 2. B C The storage space in the warehouse is arranged as a four by five grid of unit square storage slots as shown in the diagram. Each unit square is 10 m x 10 m. The trips are along rectilinear paths and the aisle space can be ignored. Products A and Care received to the warehouse through 11, while B arrives through 12. Shipment trips are in general more than the storage (input) trips due to split pallet shipments. It can be said that, 1/3 of the trips are for storages and the rest are for shipments for each of the products. Since only trucks of a certain height can align at gate 01, it is used for 40% of the shipments, and the remaining 60% of the shipments are through gate 02. 01 11 12 02 Calculate the cost coefficients of the products for the storage locations indicated with * and ** in the diagram. Do not solve but describe how you would solve this question to determine the dedicated storage layout of the products on the storage grid.
