Title: Secure by design: Upholding consumer trust through the deployment of secure IoT devices (working title) Project Plan: The objective of our analysis is to provide the reader an overview of IoT devices commonly used by consumers across the world, as well as the breakdown of these devices into their various components and how security can/should be built into each layer. We will elucidate the concept of Security by Design'' and how it should be integrated within the entire device lifecycle, from conceptualization through delivery. As we walk through the device lifecycle process, we will compare and contrast different methodologies like SDLC, PLM, and ALM in order to ultimately provide a recommendation of what we believe companies manufacturing IoT devices should be following. We will describe the common vulnerabilities and challenges from a privacy and security perspective for these types of connected products, while referencing articles where researchers describe specific instances of data leakages in popular products like Sonos and Bose smart speakers. Additionally, we will dive deeper into the controls not only device manufacturers can apply in order to mitigate relevant cyber risks, but also end consumers (such as the readers) to be more aware of their data privacy and the steps they can take to protect their personal information. please read and write feedback for above project 200 words
