$1.$ Identify the actors $$ Look in the English to determine who$/$what are doing things: Person needing the material, PR system, and the manager

$2.$ Create swimlanes for each of the actors.

$3.$ Put a start shape in the swimlane of the actor doing the first activity

$4.$ Add activities in the appropriate swimlanes for each activity in the process

$5.$ Where you see $$IF$$ that indicates legs on a gateway shape

$6.$ Add info flows across swimlanes

$7.$ Make sure you add a stop shape after the last activity

$5.$ The person requiring the material enters his PO request

$6.$ The PR system validates the request

$7.$ If correct, the PR system assigns a PR number and routes the system to the manager for approval

$8.$ If incorrect, the PR system redisplays the PR entry screen with error messages and control returns to step $5$

$9.$ The manager logons on and retrieves the PR in the PR system for budget approval.

$10.$ If sufficient budget, the manager approves the PR in the PR system and the PR is sent to purchasing $$ end of process

$11.$ If insufficient budget, the PR is returned to the person requesting the material with a budget insufficient error message $$ end of process
