SUBJECT: XYZ, Co. working conditions

I recently came across an article while browsing through the internet on one of our largest suppliers XYZ, Co.that we deal with a lot in term of business overseas. In the article, it states that the employees at XYZ, Co. have been experiencing poor working conditions for almost a year. XYZ has been employing underage children as well as making all employees work more than 14 hour shifts while paying them low wages.

We are an organization that has a certain set of rules and ethics that all employees and vendors we do business with are obligated to abide by. It is obvious that our vendor XYZ, Co. practices go against our core values. We as a company take pride in ourselves on being socially responsible. Not only do we look out for our customers, employees, stakeholders, but communities and the environments in which we do business. If this article is true, I believe it is our responsibility to look further into this matter, because this may lead to negative effect on our reputation and business. This is why I wantedto bring this issue to the management team so we can do some more research to make sure this matter is handled in the proper manner.
