To weed or not to weed, that is the question... Congratulations, you've been appointed to the U S Supreme Court as an associate justice. You now have to thoughtfully yet concisely consider the following scenario based on what you learned in the chapter 1 material: Federal law views marijuana as an illegal substance. State law views marijuana as a legal substance. Compare and contrast the two seemingly divergent positions and then submit your decision to the discussion forum. The question you've been asked to decide is which position (federal v state) is better for the American people and why. Note that your published opinion as a Supreme Court justice needs to observe the arguments (pro & con), state your decision and explain the reasoning (the why) behind it. While the subject has a myriad or arguments (economic, health & safety, moral, etc.), focus on just one component for your post and keep the entry to one or two short paragraphs (think quality, not quantity). Then carefully consider the other posts and enter your response to one you think is persuasive (not your own...) and why you think so. Be supportive and polite (as opposed to rude and argumentative...) and recognize there is NO right answer (as evidenced by the Fed v State conflict)
