Topic Activity: TFC Supplier Selection - 20 points

The assignment is a Supplier Selection Analysis (as seen in chapter 11S of the text) for Vitamin C for TFC. As part of this activity you will complete the table below and submit your response in Bb Learn.

Note: Use the informaiton from the pictures I provied below to complete the Activity. Please remeber that only the VP of Purchasing can access the supplier market and negotiate with suppliers.

Steps for completing a Supplier Selection Analysis:

1. Review the criterion listed in the table below. Add any additional criteria that you would like to consider when analyzing Vitamin C suppliers.

2. Weight each criterion. For each criterion, enter a weight. More important criteria should be weighted higher than less important criteria. Enter a zero for any criterion that is not important to you and thus, will not impact the decision analysis. Note: Weights should total 1.0 (or 100%) and should be entered as a numeric value ranging from 0 - 1.0 .

3. Score each supplier for all criteria. Please note that the table below only has some of the possible suppliers for TFC. You may add the other suppliers if preferred, but do not remove any suppliers currently listed in the table. Consider each Vitamin C supplier separately in regard to each of the criterion. For each supplier, give them a score from 1 - 5 for each criterion. Note: 1 is a poor rating on that criterion, and 5 is excellent. Note: You may choose to rate the supplier with their default settings, or you may choose to consider them with any terms that you plan to negotiate (IE: you know that you will change the delivery window).

4. Compute the total weighted score for each supplier. This total value should be easy to find/obvious for the reviewer. First you will need a weighted score for each criterion for each supplier (multiply the criterion weight by the supplier score for that item). Then sum the weighted criterion scores to calculate the Total Weighted Score for each supplier.

Required question about your Supplier Selection Analysis:

A. Based on the Total Weighted Score for each supplier from your Supplier Selection Analysis, which supplier should you select?
