QUESTION 1: FUNDRAISING GOALS, INITIAL PLANNING AND (20 marks) APPROVAL Use the information below and refer to Addenda A of the RESOURCE PACK to answer this question. Fundraising goals Before you can start with the planning of your movie night, you need to think about the reasons why you are organising this event. Yes, you want to raise money for your school, but there are more reasons why you are planning this event. 1.1 Explain FIVE goals for the open-air Movie Night (What do you hope to achieve with this event? (5) Initial planning The next step will be to put your ideas for the open-air Movie Night on paper. This will help you to focus on all the elements that will form part of the planning process. Think carefully about everything that must be arranged in order to have a successful event. Type of open-air Movie Night Decide on the type of Movie Night you are going to have: Walk-in or Drive-in. 1.2 Draw a mind map (spider diagram) to show all the elements (parts) that will form part of your planning process. Remember to write a HEADING on your mind map. Examples of the elements that can form part of the mind map: Day & Date of your Movie Night Attendees (who will attend) Location (where are you going to have the Movie Night) etc. (5) ia turn over 7 Grade 10 Exemplar PAT 2021-Day! Once you have completed the initial planning, you need to get permission from the Principal sproval for your Movie Night and the School Governing Body (SGB) to host this event You will be given a 5-minute slot in which to present your fundraising idea to the Principal in his office. You have to be well-prepared to make a good impression. Use the spider diagram in Question 1.2 to plan your oral presentation to the principal. 1.3 Write a paragraph of about 12 lines on what you are going to present to the principal. Remember: Give as much information as possible without elaborating too much (going into too much detail). (10) QUESTION 2 ACCOMMODATION FOR THE CREW (10 marks) Read the information below and refer to Addenda B of the RESOURCE PACK to answer this question Approval The Principal and the School Governing Body (SGB) have approved your request to host a Movie Night Sponsorship You have just received the good news that a company that specialises in audio-visual equipment for large events, is prepared to sponsor all the equipment for your Movie Night. They are also going to send a crew (employees such as technicians and operators) along to operate all the equipment. The company is located in one of South Africa's largest cities and the crew will have to travel to your town/city. They asked you to find suitable accommodation for the crew close to your venue. Examples of Audio-Visual (AV) You must find accommodation for the crew: equipment THE CREW 1 Sound technician (male) Microphones, lighting, sound systems, 2 Projection technicians (1 male and 1 female) mixer board(s), electrical supply, video 4 Screen operators (all male) cameras, computers, two-way radios, projectors, screens etc. Accommodation Requirements: 1. Must be a Bed & Breakfast establishment 2. Must be located close to the venue 3. Each crew member must have his/her own room (no sharing) 4. One crew member must have a smoking room 5. All rooms must have showers 6. There must be a swimming pool on the premises 7.
