Underwater Image Enhancement Do the project as described below and submit the following as ONE COMPRESSED FOLDER to the E-Learning course page: 1. A report (WORD and PDF) that documents the application work which should include: - Students' information - Introduction - Literature review (previous works with good discussion) - Methodology (algorithm description, your contribution, work phases and procedures) - Results and performance analysis (accuracy, complexity, etc.) - References 2. Code package. 3. Any relevant materials support your work. Project Description: The quality of the images taken under water may degrade due to factors such as medium scattering and absorption. The absorption substantially reduces the light energy, while the scattering causes changes in the light propagation direction. This degradation may cause the image to have low contrast or to contain a layer of fog. This project should provide an implementation of a method to reduce the aforementioned negative effects and produce better versions of the underwater images. You also may select a proper application that benefits from the outcome of your enhancement work. Some examples include Fish identification, subsea pipeline corrosion estimation, Coral-reef monitoring, underwater cable detection and tracking, and underwater moving target detection. - Submission deadline: 15/1/2023 - Group-based work: a team of 2 students. - Use the scientific report template available on the course page (E-learning) - You can use any programming language or platform to do the project work. - Avoid replicating your colleagues' work. - One student should submit the work on behalf the group members.
