They have different charges -9. 3m -3q, m and different masses as labeled in the diagram. 4 Physics classes A B are debating about what will happen when the particles are released from rest. Hunch period 8 Period I says, "The magnitude of the force that A exerts on B will be the same as the magnitude of the force that B exerts on A. Since the forces are equal and opposite, neither charged mass will move." Period 3 says, "The magnitude of the force of A on B is greater than the magnitude of force of B on A. However, since B has more mass, A will have the larger acceleration. " Period 6 says, "The magnitude of the force that A exerts on B will be the same as the magnitude of the force that I exerts on A. Since B has less mass, it will have a larger acceleration " Period 8 says, "A has more charge, but it has less mass. The larger mass of B is exactly compensated for by the larger charge of A.
