The data file edu.savcontains educational data on 78 seventh-grade students in a rural

midwestern school in the US (Moore & McCabe, 1998). The data includes each student's

grade point average (GPA), score on a standard IQ test (IQ), gender, and score on the

Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (concept). A psychologist is interested in the

effects of IQ, gender, and self-concept on GPA. Perform a multiple regression analysis for

the data. Write a summary of your analysis with an emphasis on your conclusion. Also, based

on the results of the multiple regression analysis, discuss whether or not it is necessary to

consider a more parsimonious regression model for the same data. If necessary, report and

interpret the results of the more parsimonious regression model.
