About this data: These data are courtesy of Dr John Schorling, Department of Medicine, University of Virginia School of Medicine. The data consist of 19 variables on 403 individuals who were screened for diabetes. This is a subset of a larger sample of 1046 individuals who were interviewed in a study to understand the prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and other cardiovascular risk factors in central Virginia for African Americans. Glycosylated hemoglobin > 7.0 is usually taken as a positive diagnosis of diabetes. We are assuming that Glucose, Cholesterol and HDL (high-density lipoproteins, or "good" cholesterol) are measured in mg/dL. Blood pressure is normally measured in mmHg (millimeters of mercury)

Put another way, we want to test the claim that the average systolic blood pressure for those who have diabetes is greater than the average systolic blood pressure for those who do not have diabetes.

Test this claim with an alpha level of 0.05.
