Go in and use the abbreviations and list them in your chronological order $($your planning$).$ Then build the bar chart by selecting a cell and using the "fill cell background" option in Excel to extend the bar across the chart. For example if an activity is three days, select three cells and fill them with color. Remember that some activities can run sequentially.
