Using Visio, draw an ERD for RedFlix in IDEF1x format. Include all appropriate entities and relationships. Indicate primary keys and attributes for all entities. Include all ordinalities and cardinalities. RedFlix is a new DVD rental service which uses DVD vending machines placed in convenience stores, supermarkets, and shopping malls. The company wants to set up a database to manage data related to its vending machines, customers, and rentals. In order to become a customer and rent DVDs, an individual must go online and register. Each customer must provide the company with a driver's license number, name, complete home address, and telephone number. In addition, each customer has an account balance that reflects the amount, if any, the customer currently owes the company due to unreturned DVDs. Once registered, customers will be mailed a unique RedFlix Customer Card (containing a swipe-able identification code) which they will use to identify themselves when using a vending machine. Once they have received this card, customers can rent DVDs from any RedFlix vending machine using a credit card for payment. For security purposes, credit card data will not be stored by RedFlix. For each vending machine, RedFlix maintains a machine identification number, as well as the name and complete address of its location. RedFlix carefully manages the inventory of DVDs in each vending machine. After a customer rents a DVD from one vending machine, the customer is permitted to return that DVD to any RedFlix vending machine. Each DVD contains a single movie. Several copies (DVDs) of a single movie may be available inside a single machine. Each movie has a unique movie identifier, a title, a copyright year, a genre (e.g. 'Mystery', 'Action', 'Comedy'), a length (in minutes), the actors/actresses who star in lead roles, and a rating (e.g. 'R', 'PG-13'). When a customer rents a DVD, the company records which DVD was rented, to whom, from which vending machine, the date of the rental, the date returned, the vending machine to which the DVD was returned, and the rental amount/payment. Once a week, a RedFlix employee will service each vending machine. New DVDs are added to the machines, old or unpopular DVDs are removed, and excess copies of returned DVDs are taken to be stocked in different machines. RedFlix has many corporate reporting needs. The number of DVDs rented per vending machine as well as the total income per machine is reported on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Summarizations by state, region, and actors/actresses will also be needed.
