Visit the Internet website finance.yahoo.comLinks to an external site. and type in the name of the company you previously selected in the Week 2 Discussion Question assignment. Assignment Instructions and Grading Rubric for required work to be submitted:

1. State the name and ticker symbol of the company selected.

***I chose Ford Motor Company***

2. Conduct a ratio analysis for a two consecutive year period (example: 2021/2022, 2020/2021, or 2019/2020) displayed in the financial statements for this business using at least three (3) ratios from this course. List the complete formulas for the three ratios used (EXAMPLE: Gross Profit/Revenue = Gross Margin); show numbers being used from Financials; compute ratio; stating each year ratio analysis separately. RATIOS should be ROUNDED to TWO (2) decimal places (EXAMPLE: 129,359/523,964 = 24.689 which rounds to 24.69%). MUST show ratio formula and numbers from financial statements to receive full credit in this section. See ratio handouts listed in modules week 7 chapters 10 & 11 and week 8 chapters 12 & 13 - only these ratios (Working Capital cannot be used) can be used for analysis. Chapter 14 Percent change CANNOT be used. NOTE: If there is an > symbol next to a line item on the Financial report, MAKE sure to click on that > symbol as there are other accounts listed that may need to be used dependent on the ratio used. Cost of Revenues can be used in place of Cost of Goods Sold, as many companies financial statements do not show COGS.

3. What did the ratios tell you about the company from one year to the next? This is your analysis of each ratio and the comparison of the two years of data. Each ratio is required to have an individual analysis of the ratio. (Three (3) SEPARATE analysis paragraphs required-one for each ratio analysis as shown in the sample). Look into the text to find the definition of the ratio; what is the difference between years; what does the increase or decrease indicate; what does the ratio tell us as business owners; looking at the two years of ratio numbers what is the data telling you in regards to the information.

4. You have $1,000 to invest in a company. Looking at your ratio analysis, would you invest in the company you selected? WHY or WHY NOT? This should be at least several sentences declaring why you would invest or why you would not invest using the data you are seeing in your ratio analysis.
