Void, Voidable, or Unenforceable Contracts

Think back to the scenario you provided in the last discussion. In this discussion, I'd like you to take the same scenario, but modify certain facts so that the contract is either void, voidable, or unenforceable. Here's an example:

Original Post : Professor Seibert is very upset as her beloved pet cat has escaped. She posts fliers around her neighborhood, indicating that she would offer a $1,000 Reward to anyone who located her cat and returned it. Two of Professor Seibert's Business Law students immediately begin looking for the cat, and find it. They visit Professor Seibert during her office hours, and return the cat. Unfortunately, they learn that there is a PA statute which precludes the enforcement of these types of Rewards. The PA statute states that rewards for lost animals cannot exceed $500.

Follow Up Post from Classmate: This is an unenforceable contract, as there is a statute which prevents the parties from performing pursuant to the terms of the contract.

Initial Poster: That is correct!
