W5 Discussion Question 1: Analyze a Promotional Mix Purpose: Marketers must understand what will influence a sale, referral, or other response. The promotional mix is designed to motivate the target audience to take an action. Pay attention to how your plan is geared for performance. Post: As you set up a promotional mix, it can perform one or more of four tasks: inform the target audience persuade the target audience remind the target audience connect with the audience. Often a marketer will use two or more of these tasks at the same time to spur action. Select a well-known fast food restaurant and examine their current marketing campaign. Distinguish what product or service the campaign is built for. Correlate which of the four tasks the fast food provider applied to elevate sales. Do you believe the method was effective, why or why not? In this initial post, be sure to clearly illustrate or explain what the provider is doing before you assess its effectiveness, so that your peers can understand and respond. Then look at the current website or any promotional communication you have found for the restaurant (TV, radio, billboard, etc.) and define which of the 4 intended promotional tasks you felt the company was using.
