Wanita Wagner formed a window cleaning service business in Prince George, B.C., Wanita's Window Cleaning Service, as a summer job. To start the business on May 1, 2018 she deposited $2,000 in a new bank account in the name of the proprietorship. The $2,000 consisted of a $800 loan from her father and $1,200 of her own money. Wanita rented equipment, purchased supplies, and hired high school students to assist with her customer's windows. At the end of each month, Wanita emailed or mailed bills to her customers. On August 31, she was ready to return to university for the fall semester. Because she had been so busy, she had kept few records other than her online bank statements, expense receipts and a list of amounts owed to her by customers. At August 31, Wanita's business bank account shows a balance of $140. She has $1,000 to collect in cash from customers. On August 7th, she collected $5,000 from various customers. She made a payment from her business bank account June 6th for supplies she kept in inventory, paying a total of $500. At August 31, she still has an inventory of cleaning products and other supplies leftover that cost a total of $50. She paid her employees $2,000 on Aug 29th, and she still owes them $1,000. Her marketing campaign consisted of preparing brochures for advertising at a cost of $500 as paid on June 5ch. Wanita rented some scaffolding equipment from Scaffold Depot Ltd on May 1. The business signed a six-month lease on the equipment and paid $600 On May 1* for the full lease period (until Oct 31"). Wanita had an accident with equipment, resulting in a further payment in cash of $600 for it's repairs on May 30. To transport employees, equipment and supplies to jobs, the business purchased a used truck and trailer for $2,160 on May 1. Wanita figures that the summer's work used up one-third of the truck trailer's service potential for her business. There was a bank transfer from the business bank account to Wanita's personal bank account of $100 on June 13h. Wanita also paid her father back $400 on August 20h. Assume the proprietorship will continue to exist for next summer. Prepare the income statement - only one-step can be done here.
