At the beginning of the movie we see Mr. Henslow being dragged away by Mr. Fennyman and his men over a debt. Without discussing the fact that Mr. Henslow is already under obligation to pay Mr. Fennyman....

Part 1

1. Discuss the terms of and elements of the contract Mr. Henslow makes with Mr. Fennyman.
2. Discuss whether you believe this contract is valid, void, or voidable and why?

Part 2

Does it matter that all theatres are closed for the plague and he cannot fulfill his duties under the contract? (Think - would this be a defense or excuse?) Does the second scene help fulfill the contract?

Part 3

If Mr. Henslow does fulfill the terms of the contract by putting on a show and giving Mr. Fennyman a part in the play, does that change your answers to part 1?
