Water (=103kg/m3,=0.001kg/m.s) flows through the below reducing elbow at a flow rate of 30kg/s. The inlet pressure (P1) is 4105Pa and the pressure drop through the elbow (P1P2) is 1.5104Pa. The crosssectional area at the inlet section (point 1) is 150cm2 and at the outlet section (point 2) is 25cm2. The elevation difference between the outlet and inlet points is 40cm. Determine a) the net force (in N) to hold the reducing elbow in place and the direction of the force (show on a sketch and give the angle in degrees). b) the head loss, hL, between points 1 and 2 . (Patm=101,325Pa,g=9.81m/s2) (Don't round pressure values, use at least 3 significant figures in calculations.)
