Then, think about Joshua's motivation for meeting with Abed, and whether he was attempting to influence Abed in order to get achieve outcome for Joshua's own benefit. Describe the purpose of the meeting and what Joshua's desired outcome was by meeting with Abed. After listening to Abed's reactions, can you speculate as to what Abed's interests were and why? When communicating with Abed, did Joshua use use empathy, perspective-taking, or both in order to influence the outcome? if so, how?
