Proposed Solution Title: In order to solve the combined problem of supply chain shortage and employee well-being, a hiring push for new employees will be implemented, a transition to a cloud-based supply chain, new technologies such as machine learning (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT), and new, modern, fully-equipped lounges for all employees.

 

Proposed Solution #1:

The end goal is to have the company functioning at full capacity, just as it was pre-pandemic. We estimate the increased productivity from a more substantial employee-base will more than make up for the cost of the additional hired employees. The additional employees will also give a mental health break to the entire workload in taking a fair share of responsibility off of so few people. The additional employees will be able to step in when and where they are needed to facilitate any supply chain issues. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility of relocating, traveling, and the ability to work anywhere in the world, preferably with a background in logistics and/or supply chain management. The new employees will also work towards an all cloud-based supply chain, and the implementation of newer technologies such as machine learning (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT). The implementation of newer technologies will be substantial on employees well-being. These machines can take-up extra workload making employees less stressed and more focused on the main goal/task.

 

Proposed Solution #2:

To address our employees well-being we can build better lounges for employees to take breaks. These lounges can be stacked with places to rest, relax and decompress from the workload. Restaurants or nutritious foods should be offered to employees and the hiring of more human capital is eminent if no required technologies are introduced. Encouraging mental health through programs and health benefits will also become a priority and will hopefully help alleviate the negative stigma mental health has had in years past. Invitations to have speakers such as Michael Phelps give company-wide forums on mental health will also be extended.
