When it comes it comes to writing my own campaign encouraging people to get the covid 19 vaccine for themselves, or perhaps encourage parents to vaccinate their children I will first have to figure out which data collection I will be choosing. For Data collection I will be going with the interview method, and furthermore will be using the unscheduled interview approach. I understand the importance of the fact that people tend to listen to others in their community and are more open to receiving and understanding information from someone from their own community. As understanding this information and doing the interview data gathering option, I will be using unscheduled interviews. I don't want my target audience to feel too much pressure and want this to be whole experience to seem rather casual to the target audience.
For my data collection I would like to have what the interviewee's current opinion on the covid 19 vaccination is, this includes if they would get vaccinated, if they would vaccinate their children, why or why not, things like that. I would also want to know what their knowledge level is currently of the covid 19 vaccination. Depending on the data collection information I end up with after the interviews, I would like to have a target audience mainly of people in my community. Most people in my community are single adults without children so I would like to try and encourage my community to get the covid 19 vaccine for themselves. So, the way that I would go about choosing my target audience is using my experience as someone in my community and being a trustworthy neighbor.
When it comes to theoretical foundation, I will use the knowledge gap hypothesis information. I understand that my target audience, the people in my community, have access to plentiful information resources. Most people in my apartment building alone have internet access. We also get free newspapers delivered to our mailroom and they are taken quiet quickly, so I too understand that my neighbors are receiving information via newspaper. Many of the people in my neighborhoods have cable dishes on their buildings so I recognize the fact that they have access to television, which I further recognize that they would have access to news stations.
Besides data collection and ensuring the fact that I am indeed choosing the right target audience, I think one of the biggest difficulties that I will run into during my campaign encouraging people to get the covid 19 vaccine for themselves will be reaching under-informed audiences. Many people have received misinformation about the covid 19 vaccination from unworthy and untrustworthy news sources and people of influence, so I realize that this is a situation I will experience. As of right now, I think that the way I will go about reaching under-informed audience or misinformed audiences is by giving them quality and scholarly information on the covid 19 vaccination and will attempt to debunk any misinformation that they have previously received.
