With growing international concern about global warming, agencies and organizations all over the globe are trying to find ways to reduce their "carbon footprint" (how much carbon they contribute to the environment via energy, waste, etc.). Universities are especially concerned about the amount of waste that accumulates on their campuses. Some universities have tried recycling programs with varying degrees of success. One new program proposes that if you put recycling containers IN the classrooms, you will get much more compliance then if containers are less accessible (e.g., in the hallway or only in designated offices). To test this new program, garbage was collected from 5 randomly selected classrooms before a recycling receptacle was installed in the classroom and after it was installed to see if there was a drop in the number of recyclables that were thrown away in the regular garbage. 1) What type of test should you use (one or two tailed) and why? 2) Conduct a test and write your conclusion.
