Question 3 a) Calculate the earning s of workers A and B under straight piece rate system and Taylor's differential piece rate system from the following particulars: (4 marks) Normal rate per hour- OMR1.80 Standard time per unit -20 seconds Differentials to be applied: 80%of piece rate below standard 120% of piece rate at or above standard. Worker A produces 1300 units per day and B produces 1500 units per day The workers work 8 hours per day. b) On the basis of the following information, calculate the earnings of A, B, C and D under Merrick's differential piece rate system. (4 marks) Standard production per hour: 12 units Normal rate per hour: OMR 0.60 In a hour day: A produced 64 units; B produced 96 units: C produced 84 units; D produced 100 units. (1 mark) c) Calculate the earnings of a worker from the following as per Halsey plan: Articles manufactured by Mr. 'S" a worker in a factory 300 Standard time allowed 10 minutes per unit. Actual time 44 hours Standard rate OMR 5 per hour d) Standard time per piece =12 hours Time worked X= 9 hours Y= 8 hours Workers hourly rate OMR 0.50 Calculate the earnings of X and Y under the Rowan plan.
