A university database which affiliates different colleges.

One university has many affiliated colleges. Each college has one dean. The college consists of different departments. Student and professor belongs to one of these departments.

Two types of professor are there in the department. One is a full time and the other are part time. Full time professor has fixed salary whereas part time are paid based on the number of hours they teach.

A department runs many courses and many sections are there for each course. Student needs to register themselves to one of these sections, so many students belongs to one section of a course. Section is a weak entity here, as a section corresponds to courses.

The professor teaches to one or many sections.

A student is a member of more than one club.

University, College, Dean, Department, Professor, Student, Courses are regular entities in the database, whereas section is a weak entity.

Every college has only one dean, so a 1:1 relationship exist between entity College and dean.

College may have many department (1:M)

Professor and students belongs to department. There are two types of professor, fulltime and part time. Fulltime and part time are two disjoint entities that belongs to parent entity professor.

Students registered themselves to a particular course and a section is allotted to them, hence a M:M relationship exists between entity section and student.

A student is a member of more than one club.
