Yes in fact I believe that violent video games encourage our youth to be more violent. When playing violent video games, it causes aggression, bullying, and fighting. You have to remember when looking into these games the violence is literally at an all time high. When it comes to violent video games, with the violence there is no in between. Either there is no violent or there is a lot of violence.
When I was a kid myself I use to play violent video games like Grand Theft Auto. Anyone that knows that game or played it knows that it is extremely violent. It makes stealing cars fun as well as running people over and killing them. For instance, I make a joke all the time when a person walks out in front of my car, I say ok that's one thousand points. In grand theft auto you hit and kill a person you're able to steal their money. So you gain from doing such. In a kids eye you are being rewarded for something bad.
Another thing is you may do something bad which may cause the police to chase you. But also once you lose them you are good to go. In the youth eyes, you commit a violent crime, lose the cops, then you have no worries in the world about them. Basically saying you get away and nothing happens to you. These games are fun for strong minded individuals but not for weak minded people. It's rated at what it is because it's not for our youth. Parents need to indeed monitor their children more when it comes to these video games.
