Senior management wants to cut overhead while improving the performance of its communication system. The goal is to provide seamless and efficient customer service regardless of location, accommodate employees who work from remote locations, reduce phone costs, and increase technologigal flexibility. Assurance senior management wants a full-featured UC system, whether it is managed in-house or as a cloud service. (For the purpose of this exercise, let's assume we've never heard of COVID-19 and it does not factor into the planning. Although planning for a pandemic/disaster is the perfect use case for UC, and planning for a pandemic/disaster can be used in your document.) Tasks: 1. Research UC platforms. 2. Create a network planning document that includes: - A description of the unified communications platform that you recommend and rationale for your decision (you do not have to include estimated costs) - A recommendation for IP-based desk sets or softphones (Include pros and cons for each) - Protocols associated with the UC platform. - Will you need to make any changes to your current network to support the UC platform? - A high-level plan for how the UC platform will come online as the old phone system is retired.
