You are to assume the role of a database analyst that has been assigned to develop an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) for a neighborhood swim team league. Each swim team is made up of a large number of swimmers. For each swimmer they want to know the swimmers name, address, phone number, email, and date of birth. Each swimmer can be a member of only one team. Each team also has one captain.
The team competes in meets many times during the season. Meet information includes date, location and type of meet. Many teams can compete at each meet. For instance on Saturday June 17th Hunters Green, Arbor Green, Meadow Pointe and Brookfield competed at the Hunters Green Fathers Day Swim meet.
A meet consists of a variety of events (e.g.,800 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 800 fly, 800 medley, etc.). A swimmer can compete in all or some of these events, though the team is limited to 5 participants in each event (not all rules can be represented in ERD, this is one of them). However, swimmers can only compete in events for which they are prepared (you want to track who is prepared for what events).
The key part of this database is to track individual times, individual places, individual points, and team points. See the attached score sheet from a meet to understand the type of data you need to collect. For each event a swimmer competes in they receive a time, and a point amount (e.g. first place =5 points, second place =4 points, etc.). To determine which team wins the meet individual points are summed. The team with the most points wins the match.

The attributes given are meant to help you understand the scenario. Dont include them on your ERD. If a relationship is many to many (M:N), introduce a bridge entity to break it into two 1:M relationships. Your database design must consists of 8 entities and 12 relationships.
