You recently purchased a new refrigerator from the local appliance store--Appliances Inc.-- for $1,500.00. Unfortunately, Appliances does not offer delivery and because you drive a small sedan you can not transport the refrigerator home in your vehicle. To achieve your ultimate goal of getting the refrigerator to your house you call Movers, LLC (not the appliance store) to arrange delivery service. On the phone, Movers verbally agrees to transport the refrigerator from the appliance store to your house and to haul away your broken refrigerator to a recycling facility for $100.00. Do you and Movers have an enforceable agreement? Why or why not? What if, instead of buying the refrigerator from Appliances you were buying it from Movers (agreeing over the phone to pay $1,500 for the refrigerator and $100 for transportation). Would you still have an enforceable agreement? Why or why not?
