You will provide an example of a program design for a "self-selected" hypothetical unique athlete type with major emphasis on all sport specific training program variables. This will help you improve your sport specific training program design abilities and give you a preview as to why these high level, specific designs are so important to obtaining optimal results for your future athletes in the human performance, strength training and conditioning, and sport science sectors.

INSTRUCTIONS Please explain an example of a sport specific training program design appropriate for a "self-selected" unique athlete type. You must explain a 6-8 week training cycle in chart form and provide a detailed example of one week's worth of single day work-outs (ie. resistance training, HIIT or cardiovascular training, plyometric training, etc.). Finally, please assume that your chosen athlete has been medically cleared by his/her physician to participate in your sport specific training program, but you must design his/her training program based upon his/her current fitness status, current periodization period that he/she is within, job and/or academic demands, and training and performance goals. You can pick any 6-8-week timeframe within the sport specific "periodization periods" for your chosen athlete.
