Your Task
Over several weeks, three companies monitored the incoming calls to Jamey's Pizzas, specifically any call for 20 pizzas (that turned out to be a false order). The data the companies have provided you with are based on the four main cellphone towers in town (Tower A, Tower B, Tower C, and Tower D). Using the data, you will identify the location approximate location from which each call was made. The local law enforcement will begin their search for the prankster in the location/area in which most calls were made.
Using the provided data, Law of Sines, and Law of Cosines, determine the location of the calls by solving unique triangles. After you have solved each triangle, draw the triangle on the map to find the location of the call on the map of the town. The location/area/building with most calls will be your suggestion of where the investigation should begin.
Directions: For each call, create a sketch of the triangle and solve the triangle using the Law of Sines and/or the Law of Cosines. Show all work. Once you have solved all six triangles, redraw the triangles on the town map (or on graph paper with the same coordinates) using a protractor. Mark the location where the call came from for that triangle with a star. Once all triangles have been drawn on the map/graph, identify the location/area/building with the most calls by marking it with a circle. All angles and sides must be solved for each triangle prior to drawing your triangles and locating the likely location of the culprit.
