Recently I graduated with a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Melbourne. Prior to that, I did Bachelors and Masters in Physics and Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. During my undergraduate and graduate studies I have taken various courses, which required mastery of Physics, Maths, Calculus, and Statistics. As a result of which these courses are very clear and fresh in my mind and I feel confident to solve any questions on these subjects.
I have tutored for the last 8 years for students of various age groups. As a part of NGO, I taught science to underprivileged primary and high school children. During my PhD, I tutored a Bachelor's and Master's students. As a tutor, I feel one of the most important qualities is patience. Each individual student has his/her own learning speed, sometimes understanding some of the concepts might be overwhelming. During such time a student needs a patient tutor by his/her side and explaining the concepts from various different angles. In addition, I have learnt various tutoring skills over the past eight years which I firmly believe will help me effectively tutor any student with varied needs.
