Question:

10. The chairman of certain political party is making plans for the parliament. He has the services of six volunteers (party workers) and wishes to assign them to four districts in such a way as to maximise the effectiveness. He feels that it would be ineffective to assign a worker to more than one district but he is not willing to assign a worker to any district ifhe or she accomplishes more in another district. The following table gives the estimated increase in votes in his favour in each district if it were allocated to various workers. Using dynamic programming technique determine how many of the six workers should be assigned to each of the four districts in order to maximise the total estimated increase in the number of votes.
