After identifying basic design flaws, groups then answer the following questions:

a. Is the control cost effective? Are the costs associated with the control mechanism offset by the benefits derived?

b. Is the control acceptable? Do the people affected believe it is necessary?

c. Is the control appropriate? Are the steps involved commensurate with the activity?

d. Is the process strategic? Is it a critical activity in the operation of the university?

e. Is the control reliable and effective? Is it clear what criteria are necessary for the approval of the request and what will be construed as sufficient justification?LO.1
