I actually stumbled on this cost management book because my professor recommended it for the course, and honestly was pumped when mine came in for free—can't beat that for a textbook! The chapter that really hooked me was Chapter 6, where it dives into Activity-Based Costing. Before digging into it, I struggled to get how cost drivers really work beyond the basic theory; the examples always seemed a little dry from lectures. But going through the real-life scenarios here made it click for me, especially when they showed how to assign overhead costs much more accurately using ABC. It was like an aha moment, 'oh so that’s how firms make smarter cost decisions.' I actually ended up applying some of those ideas during a group project, helping us suggest ways a mock company could better track expenses for specific activities instead of lumping everything together. It made our project sound way more professional. On the flip side, the chapter was long and I felt some sections got a bit bogged down with too many technical terms without enough basic laid out first, which slowed me down. Overall though, this chapter clarified heaps of stuff and is tempting me to keep reading more. I’d suggest it to anyone trying to go beyond the basics because it makes learning costing not just bearable, but kinda interesting? Glad I grabbed this, especially for free!

This book turned out to be an invaluable asset for my cost management class! The content is rich and deeply engaging, filled with realistic examples that helped bridge the gap between theory and practice. What really stood out to me was the way the authors incorporated strategic emphasis throughout the chapters, making it so much easier to grasp concepts that initially seemed daunting. I was even able to get an extra discount using my membership. The book also arrived promptly and in perfect condition—kudos to the seller for the excellent packaging. Highly recommended for anyone serious about mastering cost management.

Got this free for my course ACCT 3210: Strategic Cost Management and it’s actually pretty solid so far, pages feel clean and easy to read, which helps cuz the course is intense. Haven’t gone super deep yet but it seems like a good fit for understanding tough costing ideas without getting lost.
