Was kinda stoked when this discounted copy for my course COMS 320: Nonverbal Communication in Interpersonal Contexts arrived yesterday cuz it looked decent quality and the pages feel nice, but I haven’t sat down with it much yet. Packaging was nothing fancy but protective enough so it’s in good shape. Plan to actually dig into the chapters soon when I get a breather. So far it seems like a solid enough textbook - doesn’t seem overwhelming but hard to say without proper reading. Will update later if it gets more useful. Delivery was quick though, so that’s a plus!

Found this book when my professor insisted we grab it for the communications class, and thankfully I got it on discount, which was a nice surprise. Before starting it, I wasn’t too sure how much it would connect to real situations—not gonna lie, nonverbal stuff sometimes sounds kinda abstract or boring. But then when I hit Chapter 5 about Kinesics, I was totally hooked. The breakdown of different types of body movements and what they mean wasn’t just textbook jargon—it honestly made me stop and think about how I read people all day without even noticing. Reading through that part was almost like uncovering this secret language everyone’s been actually using all along without a manual. The chapter explanations came through easy for me, with good examples that felt relevant to being around my classmates or zoom meetings, especially the section on gestures and facial expressions. I felt like once I grasped that, I started catching those tiny signals folks throw in conversation and even tweaked the way I express myself a bit, especially when I don’t speak up verbalizing all the time. The one letdown might be that some of the images or diagrams could use freshening up, kinda looked like from 90s slides which felt a bit dated—but it didn’t mess with how I understood the content, thankfully. I guess that’s where a more updated edition could shine more. Anyway, this book turned out to be less dry and totally a useful toolkit to decode unspoken language. If you’re in a class or even curious about what’s behind all the head nods, crossed arms, or eye contact stuff, I’d say this is a great pick—on sale or not! Makes you realize nonverbal communication isn’t just about body language, it’s basically your whole vibe in any convo.

Yeah, I grabbed this book on a discount but cracking it open was a nightmare—the whole thing was wrapped in layers of crazy tape and glued shut like hardcore. Took forever just to open it safely and I felt like I needed scissors just for the packaging. Not cool for something I'm trying to actually use.

So I bought my copy of this for my Florida International University course and snagged it at a discount through SolutionInn which was nice cuz college books get pricey. Material is okay but a bit dry sometimes—chapters don’t flow super smoothly and some parts felt kinda repetitive which made me lose focus early on. The book itself feels durable enough though not fancy or anything. Shipment was chill and got here faster than I expected which is always a win. I’m a couple weeks in but I wanna see if it gets better later on. Not bad but not wow.
