I stumbled across this book while searching for something that caught the balance between spreadsheets and actual decision making for my management science class. I was stuck on how exactly to make decisions based on data sets — felt kinda lost actually. When I got to Chapter 5 about linear programming, something clicked for me. The way it broke down creating Excel models step-by-step made those complicated looking problems way less scary, and way more ‘doable’. I was kinda amazed by how visual and laid out the solutions were, which helped me picture how businesses decide between options based on constraints and goals—it gave me a whole new angle to think about those problems. I actually used the model template example later that week for a group project, and we totally nailed our report, showing how different variables would affect profits. That felt awesome! My only quibble is the chapter sometimes got a bit dense when they introduced the mini puzzles, like I had to slow down, which kinda broke the flow. But that’s probably because the material needs it, so I get it. Also, got the book on a little discount which was super nice, considering it came nicely wrapped and no scratched pages or anything. I think anyone needing to figure out how spreadsheets can push actual decision science forward will appreciate the way this capsule of info in the chapter helped me get over my misty confusion. If you’re eyeing an after-school help, give this a shot—it’s well worth it.

Needed this book for my Bachelor of Business Analytics studies and grabbed it at a discount, which was sweet. skimmed a bit so far and it’s pretty clear—helps me get the idea of spreadsheet models without overloading with jargon. packaging was good, came quick. gonna use it for sure.

Bought this on discount for my Bachelor of Science in Management Science studies and it’s pretty good so far. Clears up spreadsheet modeling stuff more than I expected, especially with practical examples. Haven’t finished it all yet but makes group projects a bit easier honestly. Took about 3 days to get it.

So, I grabbed this book mostly cuz my professor said it would help but I honestly got way more out of it than expected - especially Chapter 6 on decision trees. Before that I was scratching my head over how to approach uncertain choices in spreadsheets without messing it all up. The stuff was pretty confusing until I got into that chapter and it neatly showed how to build up that decision tree in Excel step by step. That way of laying it out made me suddenly see how those probabilities and outcomes really influence business choices — like you’re playing this scenario act, but with actual numbers that spell out potential risks or wins.
There was one moment when the example walked through a real product launch choice and I was like whoa, that actually clicks! I even took the approach for a project where we had to pick the best supplier choice with unpredictable costs and delivery times, and being able to map options visually and with chances made it so much easier to explain my reasoning.
I bought it on discount which was a luck, and it looks great in print too. I wouldn’t say every exercise was super smooth - some parts got a little tangled with formulas that needed more patience, but all in all, the decision trees chapter felt like unlocking a new toolkit for spreadsheets and problem solving. Definitely gonna keep cracking this one open if things get tricky.
Anyone in a management course or just trying to make sense of numbers for decisions should give the book at least Chapter 6 a look – it’s surprisingly practical and surprisingly eye-opening. Worth the price for that alone.

Finally got the book I needed for my course MGT 302: Decision Modeling and Analytics in Management and like, the sections on spreadsheet models already make things less confusing than I thought. grabbed it on discount so definitely useful without hurting the wallet. looks neat and easy enough to follow!

This textbook got to me pretty quick, probably within 3 or 4 days, which is perfect since I needed it for my course IDMT 402: Decision Analysis and Spreadsheet Modeling. I bought it with a discount and feels like a steal for what you get here. I started looking through the chapters and honestly, the page layouts and explanations make the tricky spreadsheet stuff more approachable, not super overwhelming. It’s not one of those dry textbooks that drag you down, it actually reads pretty smoothly. Packaging was neat, no damage or anything. Still early but feels like it’ll be pretty useful for homework and projects thanks to the examples so far.

For my Bachelor of Science in Management Science studies, I needed something to make spreadsheets and decision models less confusing, and this book did just that. Got it at a discounted price which was a bonus, and honestly, the sections about setting up models in Excel made those formulas way more manageable. I haven’t finished everything yet but the way it explains creating models helped me a lot in one of our group assignments—actually saved us some stress. Packaging was neat and the pages looked brand new too. Some of the exercises get a bit detail-heavy, but that’s maybe normal for this kind of stuff. So far, pretty good and useful.

This book is a fantastic resource for anyone diving into management science. The explanations are crystal clear, and the examples provided are practical and relatable, making it easier to grasp complex concepts. I was especially impressed by the chapter on linear programming—it broke things down in an incredibly digestible way. My package arrived promptly and was well-packaged. Plus, I got an extra discount with my subscription. Highly recommend this book for students and professionals alike!

A solid introduction to spreadsheet modeling and decision analysis, but I wish it had more online resources.

Kind of flew through some chapters for my MGMT 302: Spreadsheet Modeling for Decision Analysis class and it makes tricky spreadsheet stuff way less confusing than I expected. Grabbed it with a discount which was sweet because this kind of book usually cuts into my budget. Pages all nice, no damage, so pretty happy for now.

I've been using this book for my course MGMT 305: Spreadsheet Modeling for Decision Analysis and it’s actually making the Excel modeling way less painful than I expected. Got it at a discounted price, which felt like a steal, and it looked new with no damage at all when it came a few days ago. I’m only partway through but the examples so far aren’t as confusing as I thought they would be, and it’s been helpful for a couple of assignments already. Some parts get kinda detail-heavy and require slowing down, but overall, it’s good to have around when you’re stuck on those spreadsheet setups.

This spreadsheet book arrived in about 4 days, bought it with a discount so it was a nice deal and the quality makes it feel worth it. i'm using it for my The University of Alabama class and so far the examples make some parts easier but other chunks are slow going and a little confusing. the layouts are clean and it looks professional but i wish explanations moved faster since i got distracted sometimes. i haven’t gone deep yet but seems fine for now — enough to help with assignments if you push through. i’m optimistic it’ll help more later.
