The California Department of Environmental Protection is interested in what happens with methane powered cars if they are not properly maintained. They devise an experiment where 100 methane powered cars are driven for two years with no routine maintenance. At the end of this period, 14 of the cars fail the pollution emissions test. The Department also tests 80 gasoline powered cars for the same period with the same lack of maintenance. At the end of the period, 20 of the gasoline powered cars fail the test. Present a hypothesis, a null hypothesis, and evaluate the hypothesis.
