The gain matrix in Eq. 24-1 for the plant in this chapter was obtained using analytical methods (Mathematica: see www.mathematica.com) with the reduced holdup model. An alternative way to evaluate the plant interactions is to find the gain matrix and the relative gain array (Chapter 18) using a Simulink model, by making small step changes in each input, and then determining the steady-state output changes in order to estimate the gains. Evaluate the relative gain array of this plant using the alternative approach along with a simulation of the full concentration model. Compare your results with the analytical results given in Eq. 242.
