As discussed in "A Word About . . . Degradable Polymers" (p. 426), some polymers can be naturally recycled in the environment. One can also imagine an application in drug delivery by the slow hydrolysis of a polymer to generate in vivo a pharmaceutical drug. Suggest the biologically relevant drug that is liberated from the aqueous hydrolysis of this polyester.
